The Voice season 26 came to an end on December 10, and that means saying goodbye to Snoop Dogg as a coach for the foreseeable future. Before the finale ended, host Carson Daly asked Snoop what being on the show meant to him, and he gave a heartwarming answer.
“It’s been a great experience for me,” he said. “I didn’t know what I was signing on to, but I do know it feels like I could come back and do it again.”
Fans were ecstatic at the admission. Does that mean Snoop Dogg could return to The Voice? Are there plans for him to come back already? While the season 27 coaches have already been revealed, there’s still time to sign Snoop on for future seasons.
Daly, for his part, said that they would hold Snoop to that admission. He also thanked him for the “new life, heart, soul, authenticity [and] brotherhood” that he brought to the show. Truly, having Snoop Dogg on The Voice brought a brand new energy, especially with how he related to Michael Bublé. The two struck up an immediate bromance that had Snoop feeling like they were “brothers from another mother.”
Snoop Dogg Previously Admitted He Only Planned To Do One Season of The Voice, But the Show Changed Him
Previously, Snoop Dogg revealed that he had only planned to sign on for one season of The Voice. “I’m gonna do this for one year and get up outta here,” he said. However, he later admitted that he fell in love with the show, the contestants, and his fellow coaches. He even alluded to a possible return when he told a performer to come back in another season so he could hit his button for her then. Could we see Snoop back in a big red chair some day?
“I had a great time on The Voice,” Snoop told OK Magazine in September. “I ain’t gonna front, but when I did the contract, I thought, ‘I’m gonna do this for one year and get up outta here.’ Once I got to the set, I fell in love with Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani and, unbelievably, me and Michael Bublé are like lost brothers.”
Overall, it seems like Snoop Dogg has had a lot of fun on The Voice. It’s possible that the show helped him grieve his younger brother’s passing in February, as he mentioned in the finale. Snoop had a rough year, but he discovered a family on The Voice that he seems to cherish deeply.
