P!nk and Her 13-Year-Old Daughter, Willow, Absolutely ‘Slayed’ The Stage With an Unforgettable Duet of “What About Us,” Leaving the Crowd in Awe! Willow’s Talent Was on Full Display, Proving She Could Be the Next Huge Pop Sensation. This Performance Was Nothing Short of Epic!
This teen singer might just be the next big pop star! Pink really brought the house down at the 2024 Democratic National Convention with a show-stopping duet with none other than her 13-year-old daughter Willow Sage Hart. Clearly, the apple has not fallen very far from the tree here, folks, as young Willow has definitely got that talent that her mum is so well known for.
The dynamic duo performed a sparse acoustic arrangement of Pink’s protest song “What About Us” at the event. Pink and Willow held hands at the beginning of the song, and when the crowd heard Willow’s beautiful voice, a big cheer went up. The pair performed as part of a five-part vocal group along with a guitarist, and this approach really lit the song up something special. Here, we’re proud to say this live cut is 100% the new definitive version of “What About Us”.
You’ve really gotta hand it to Willow, as she was upfront and center in the mix, being the second loudest mic in the group apart from her mum. And Willow without a doubt stepped up to the plate and delivered on the big stage, making her mum proud. Pink was also in excellent form vocally – her key lines in the chorus just popped off big time.
Pink has teamed up with Willow several times in the past. In 2021, the pair recorded a duet on “Cover Me in Sunshine”, while in 2018, they recorded “A Million Dreams” together. Pink and Willow subsequently gave a well-received live performance of “Cover Me in Sunshine” in Adelaide as part of Pink’s 2024 Australian tour.
Pink and Willow performed “What About Us” on the closing night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. PBS NewsHour uploaded a professionally shot video of the performance on YouTube on August 23, where it has already attracted four million views.
We are happy to report that fans online gave rave reviews for the mum and daughter duet and added comments such as “She was fantastic at the convention, Willow has a lovely voice like her mom” and “I just adore Pink and this beautiful duet with her daughter, gives me goosebumps!”
Pink released “What About Us” on August 10, 2017, as the lead single from her seventh studio album, Beautiful Trauma. The song garnered positive reviews, which praised the political message of the song and the anthemic vibe of the hit. When writing the lyrics, Pink drew from the political environment in the United States at the time, and in particular, surrounding the 2016 United States presidential election.
