Jennifer Lopez has officially filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, bringing an end to their two-year marriage.
The couple had been separated for several months, with court documents noting April 26, 2024, as their official separation date.
Lopez, who is the mother of 16-year-old twins Emme and Max, filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, coinciding with their second wedding anniversary.
Sources close to Lopez reveal that she “was done waiting” for Affleck to address their marital issues. Despite her efforts, she felt “heartbroken” by the situation.
The source added, “She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken. The kids remain a top priority, as always.”
Throughout the summer, Lopez and Affleck, who has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, spent significant time apart.
Their separation comes two years after their intimate Las Vegas wedding on July 16, 2022, followed by a larger celebration in Georgia.
An insider close to Lopez shared that she is ready to “move on” from Affleck. “She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t shown any signs of wanting to continue their marriage,” the insider revealed. Lopez is now focused on moving forward with her life.
