Susan Boyle had to ‘pinch’ herself after fulfilling a lifelong dream of performing for Pope Francis in the Vatican.
A devout Catholic, the Britain’s Got Talent winner was honoured to be asked to perform at the annual Christmas Concert on Saturday night and was ‘humbled’ to meet the Pope himself beforehand.
Wearing a chic embroidered jacket, Susan beamed as she stepped in to shake the hand of the leader of the Catholic church.
Changing into a beaded nude and silver gown for the concert, the Scottish singer performed two songs and was joined by the likes of Lionel Richie and Holding Out For A Hero singer Bonnie Tyler.

Nine years after she sang for Pope Benedict in Glasgow, it was an emotional moment for SuBo.
‘To be at the Vatican meeting the Pope was such a humbling experience and to be asked to take part in his Christmas concert was a true honour,’ she said.
‘I have to pinch myself at how lucky I am and 10 years on I’m still having the most fantastic time with these incredible opportunities. I don’t and won’t ever take this for granted.
‘Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some, but for me the luckiest day of my life.’
