Combs was a preacher who appeared on The X Factor in a wheelchair. He struggled with health issues for many years, and according to his wife, in 2009, he weighed as much as 920 pounds. Freddie Combs, a contestant on Simon Cowell’s second season of The X Factor in the United States, died at the age of 49. He was first featured on the TLC series Ton of Love in 2010 and succeeded in losing weight to a very trim 540 pounds.
He was quickly taken out of the running.
